Great Month of Service

The past month has been exciting as we have had the opportunity to serve our local community, travel to an international conference to make connections, finalize steps to start a new online connections platform and send out a team to teach the Word of God to church planters.  All of this has been possible because prayer partners like you have been so faithful to lift up the opportunities God is bringing our way.  Thank you for your prayer and financial support that helps make all of this happen and encourages us more than you can imagine.

Serve Weekend in Chillicothe Illinois

There were many opportunities to serve over the weekend in Chillicothe at Serve Weekend at the end of October. We helped organize this event and were thrilled to have over 160 spots filled over two days of community service projects. Especially great to see this team with members from at least four different churches come together for two full days to build this awesome ramp for a sweet little girl and her mom. Thanks to Carl, Kevin and the rest of the team that went the extra mile and served with joy in the love of Christ!!

Help Us with the Hub

During the months of December and January we will be beta-testing our social media platform that will be a place to connect with missionaries and ministry partners all around he world.  This new site will be a place where we can all connect and offer our piece of the puzzle to the Body of Christ.  Our goal is to have over fifty friends try it out and use if for a few months as a way for us to work out any bugs and develop it in a way that us useful in building relationships.

If you would be interested in being a beta-tester that uses the site and gives us feedback as you use it please text 309-251-2048 and let us know who you are and that you want to try the new site.  Thanks for the help!

Cincinnati Was Great

We had an amazing time over a long weekend in November with some of our staff in Cincinnati at International Conference on Missions. We made some new friends, made some great connections, saw what other ministries are doing for the Kingdom and had a blast. Looking forward to following up on a lot of great connections that we made over the weekend. Thank you for praying for us.
Go Team to Southeast Asia

We are also looking forward to sending a team that will teach two weeks of intensive Bible courses to church planting pastors in training.  This team will travel in early December to a region of the world where the Gospel is not openly welcomed.  These church planters are willing to risk their lives to share the love of Christ with those who have not heard, and our team is thrilled to be part of their training and to be able to encourage and pray with these fellow believers.  Please pray for protection and for fruitful ministry as they teach and connect.

Prayer for Trips, Service and Conference...

The fact that we have a lot going on within the next month is really no surprise, but it is surprising how God has provided and connected us in so many parts of the world and even in our own community.  This month we are asking for prayer for specific trips that still need team members and/or resources, a local service weekend that we are helping organize and for more great connections as we again host a booth at ICOM (International Conference on Missions) in Cincinnati Ohio.  Thank you for praying and supporting our ministry as we strive to connect at Timothy culture in the Church.
Go Team Coach in Liberia and
Other Trips on the Horizon
As we read this prayer update our Africa Go Team Coach Steve Waggoner (center in the picture above from his recent trip to Uganda) is in Liberia Africa on a vision trip to connect with a new ministry partner and he is doing some teaching at a pastor's conference.  We will have more details in the moths to come about how we plan to partner with the Bible college there in the near future.  Please pray for Steve and the rest of the team this week as they serve in Liberia.

Likewise, we have plans for these upcoming trips.  Please pray for all of the support and team members needed to make these trips a blessing to our ministry partners.  Please let us know if you would be interested in getting involved as well....

Everybody Serving for the Weekend

As October winds down we will be getting heavily involved in serving right here in our community.  If you are local and would like to join us on either morning we could still use plenty of help.  We as a ministry have committed to helping plan this annual event that provides a platform for the churches and ministries in Chillicothe Illinois to work together and serve our community.  You can get signed up to get involved through the Sign Up Genius link on our website...

Cincinnati Here We Come

You might recognize some of our staff and volunteers from this picture at last year's ICOM in Peoria.  This year we will be traveling to Cincinnati in November to again connect with missionaries, ministry leaders and those who want to serve missions around the world.  It is exciting to have this one event each year where all of our staff can be together and connect with each other and new ministry partners as well.  Last year we made some very significant and long term friendships at the conference and we are asking you to pray that we will again see much fruit from our commitment of time and resources to this conference.  Check out the ICOM website and consider coming yourself this year.  If you do, make sure you stop by out booth to make a missionary greeting video or just to say hello.  Thanks for your prayers!

Your prayer and support allows us to connect a Timothy Culture in the Church by:

  • Planning and facilitating experiences that help missionaries and expose people to their work
  • Encouraging and equipping leaders so that they can follow through on God's prompting to serve a specific ministry
  • Helping leaders recruit and train a team of people as needed to fulfill their vision for serving
  • Breaking down barriers that might keep people from following through on God's call to serve missions

Blessings Come in Threes....

The ministry we have with Small World Connections has always been exciting. Especially as we watch to see what doors the Lord opens and the people He brings our way as partners in Kingdom service.  In this past month we have seen three areas where He has surpassed our expectations in bringing us a new staff member, blessed the resale shops for significant financial contributions to charities and opened three new mission trip avenues to serve around the world....

Welcome Rebecca Waggoner
As we began the search for our part-time Assistant Go Team Director, we never imagined we would find someone as ready to be part of Small World Connections as Rebecca.  Her new role as a staff member is also a blessing in at least three different ways.

When she starts with us at the beginning of October she will be moving to our area from Florida and will be closer to her parents and siblings who are based in Central Illinois.

She will fill our part-time role as Assistant Go Team Director allowing us to expand our service as we connect a Timothy culture in the church.

Finally, she has an amazing passion to start a mission business that will potentially help mission efforts all over the world.  We are thrilled to welcome her and can't wait to see how God uses her as she serves with Small World Connections!  Please let us know if you would be interested in joining Rebecca's financial support team or prayer team.

Three Blessings for the Community and Abroad

As we look at ways we are impacting ministries and non-profits locally and internationally, it is exciting to see how God has developed the ministry through our current resale ministries in Chillicothe, Canton and Peoria Heights Illinois.  Just during the month of August the resale shops gave out $18,676 to local and international charities.  What a privilege to be part of a ministry that helps so many great organizations in so many places around the world.  Please continue to pray for these ministries as we develop them further and begin to look for a director to oversee these and hopefully future locations.

Three Mission Trips

Planning and facilitating mission trips is a big part of what we do.  It is one of the effective ways we are able to serve our ministry partners all around the world.  We have three upcoming mission trip experiences planned and we would like you to pray and even consider going.  Contact us if any of these are something that God has put on your heart.  Also, let us know if there is another ministry that you would like to serve and we will see what we can do to help you follow through on that prompting.

Here are our next three trips:

Vision Team and Teaching Team to Liberia Africa
Teaching team to South East Asia
Video and Project Teams to the Philippines
